Steelers defensive tackle Tyson Alualu suffered a sprained MCL in the first quarter of Pittsburgh’s 28-24 win over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, according to a report by Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.
Alualu will require an MRI to confirm the diagnosis. The Steelers announced that he was doubtful to return with a knee injury during the game. MCL injuries usually require athletes to miss at least multiple weeks.
Initial diagnosis for Steelers DL Tyson Alualu is a sprained MCL, per source. Waiting for MRI to confirm. Could miss some time but not considered major.

He was replaced at nose tackle by second-year lineman Isaiah Buggs, who made a number of big plays in the second half, including a fourth-down stop of Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson in the game’s final two minutes.
The Steelers also finished the game without fellow starting defensive lineman Cam Heyward, who reportedly suffered a minor quad injury.
