Report: Steelers Guard Kevin Dotson Has High Ankle Sprain, Could Miss Month
Steelers left guard Kevin Dotson suffered a high ankle sprain in the team’s tie with the Detroit Lions on Sunday, according to a report by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Dotson limped off the field to the Pittsburgh sideline and was tended to by medical personnel before being carted back to the Steelers’ locker room. The Steelers quickly ruled him out of the remainder of the game.
According to Rapoport, high ankle sprains can take a month or more to heal. J.C. Hassenauer replaced Dotson on the field on Sunday. Fellow backup interior lineman B.J. Finney was not dressed, but would also be an option for the Steelers going forward.
After Dotson’s injury, right guard Trai Turner also left the game with an ankle injury, though Turner’s appeared to be less severe.
