Iowa State wide receiver Jaylin Noel has a top-30 visit scheduled with the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to MLFootball.
Noel turned heads at the NFL Combine, recording an impressive 4.39 40 time along with a 1.51 10-yard split. He also had a 41.5 vertical and 11’2″ broad jump.
Noel’s athleticism could be intriguing for the Steelers, who are in desperate need of adding a speedster at the receiver position.
It wasn’t reported that Noel had a visit with the Steelers at the Combine, but he very well could have.
Noel had a breakout season in 2024 with the Cyclones, recording 80 receptions for 1,194 yards and eight touchdowns. He ranked ninth nationally in receiving yards and 18th in receiving yards per game (85.3) last season.
Noel had a banner day against Kansas State last year, posting eight receptions for 167 yards and two touchdowns and six first downs.
Noel recorded over 60 catches in each of his final three seasons at Iowa State. He also was a great punt and kick returner, receiving Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Year for 2024, in addition to being First-Team All-Big 12 last year. He averaged 15.3 yards on 13 punt returns last season.
Noel is projected to be a second-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
The Steelers have acknowledged that adding to the wide receiver room this offseason is a significant priority, and that the group they ran with last year did not get the job done. It wouldn’t be surprising if the team bolstered the corps in free agency and the draft.
“It’s obviously a priority,” general manager Omar Khan said last week. “I’m not going to run from that. It’s just the reality. We have some guys that are free agents, and we weren’t good enough at that position. So we’ll look at everything.”
