Report: Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger Fined for Wearing Apple Watch on Sideline
Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was fined $5,000 for wearing an Apple watch on the sideline during the team’s Week 3 win over Cincinnati, according to a https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/1180854227586945030″>report
by Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Roethlisberger was attending his first game back with the team since undergoing season-ending surgery on his right elbow.
The NFL has strict regulations regarding having communication equipment on the sideline. Former Steelers safety Troy Polamalu was fined $10,000 for talking on a cell phone on the sideline in 2011.
Schefter went on to say that Roethlisberger is “livid” about the fine and plans to appear.
Earlier this season, Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. was warned not to wear to a $250,000 Richard Mille watch during games anymore because of an NFL rule preventing “hard objects” from being worn onto the field.
Roethlisberger was wearing the watch as he arrived at the stadium on Sunday for the Steelers’ Week 5 game against the Baltimore Ravens.
