Report: Steelers Showing Interest in Alabama RB Najee Harris at Senior Bowl
The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of two teams that have reportedly shown great interest in Alabama running back Najee Harris at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, according to Pro Football Network’s Tony Pauline.
Harris’ measurements were impressive Tuesday, clocking in a just under 6’2” and an imposing 230 lbs. His arms measured at 33 3/8 inches in length, while his hands were 10 inches.
According to Pauline, Harris will only interview and not participate in the on-field portions of the Senior Bowl. It would make sense to assume the Steelers will one of the clubs requesting an interview with the star running back.
Harris was outstanding in his senior season in Tuscaloosa, rushing for 1,466 yards and 26 touchdowns. He also improved his stock as a receiver in 2020, catching 43 passes for 425 yards and four scores.
Not only did Harris win the National Championships with the Crimson Tide, but he was also named a unanimous All-American and awarded the Doak Walker Award for good measure.
The other clubs who is reportedly infatuated with Harris is the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins could also use a boost a running back. Miami owned the league’s 22-ranked rush offense, and did not have a running back eclipse 600 yards on the season.
Miami would hope to pair Harris with his college teammate quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
