Steelers GM Omar Khan

Steelers vice president Omar Khan completed an interview with the Chicago Bears for their vacant general manager position on Monday, but was not identified as a finalist for the job, according to a report by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Kansas City Chiefs executive director of player personnel Ryan Poles, Tennessee Titans director of player personnel Monti Ossenfort and New England Patriots executive consultant Eliot Wolf are finalists for the position, according to Rapoport.

Former general manager Ryan Pace and had coach Matt Nagy were both fired on Jan. 10. The Bears requested permission to interview Khan on Jan. 22. He was among 11 other candidates that have interview for the job.

Khan is also an internal candidate for the Steelers’ general manager position, as current general manager, Kevin Colbert, will likely retire after the 2022 NFL Draft. Steelers’ pro personnel coordinator, Brandon Hunt, is another internal candidate for the position.

Khan has been a general manager candidate in the past, including for the Carolina Panthers and Houston Texans last offseason. He has previously interviewed with the Los Angeles Rams, Miami Dolphins, New York Jets and Seattle Seahawks.
