Tennessee Titans defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons has been fined for his low hit on Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger last week, according to a report by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Simmons dove at Roethlisberger’s legs in the fourth quarter of the game. Simmons was penalized for roughing the passer on the play, which negated a fumble by Steelers wide receiver James Washington.

“It is the defender’s responsibility to avoid contact below the knees and above the shoulders when the quarterback is in the pocket,” Titans head coach Mike Vrabel said after the game.

Defensive back Kristian Fulton was not fined for the hit that has caused Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth to spend the week in the concussion protocol and miss the team’s trip to Kansas City. Fulton was also given a 15-yard penalty on that play.
