Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson has taken two free agent visits, but the veteran signalcaller still does not have a contract offer, according to a report by Pro Football Talk.

After his visit with the Cleveland Browns on Thursday ended with a contract, there were higher hopes for Wilson’s Friday visit with the New York Giants, who have a more obvious need at quarterback.

The Giants are looking to replace both starter Daniel Jones and backup Drew Lock, and have only third-stringer Tommy DeVito under contract for 2025 at this point.

The Giants, like the Steelers and Minnesota Vikings, are apparently still waiting to see what Aaron Rodgers is doing, as the 41-year-old has held up several NFL teams for several days this week while he makes his choice known.

The Giants hosting Wilson provided a pathway for the stare-down to end. Wilson signing in New York would have eliminated one of Rodgers’ choices.

But it seem the Giants, like the Steelers and Vikings, are content to wait, to the frustration of their fanbases, and likely Wilson, who is stuck in limbo with the possibility of not finding a starting job.

The Giants have reportedly made an offer to Rodgers that is greater than the one the Steelers have on the table, but he has not taken a step to accept either, with most of the news on Friday centered on his flirtation with the Vikings, who appear to only be seeking a backup or competitor to second-year quarterback J.J. McCarthy, while the Steelers and Giants have wide-open situations.

The Steelers took one step to shore up their quarterback position on Thursday, bringing back veteran backup Mason Rudolph on a two-year deal.
