The earlier clash features an interesting quarterback matchup. Veteran journeyman Geno Smith has found a home with the Seahawks, setting single-season franchise records with 4,282 passing yards and a 69.8 completion percentage this go-round.

For San Francisco, rookie Brock Purdy operates the offense. Purdy was taken with the final pick in last year’s NFL Draft but has so far shown to be a viable option. He took over after Jimmy Garoppolo broke his foot against Miami in Week 13 and the 49ers haven’t lost since.

San Francisco is a 9.5-point favorite and is -500 on the money line. The Seahawks are a +300 underdog.

Over his first five professional starts, Purdy’s completed 114 of his 170 passes for 1,374 yards, 13 touchdowns, and four picks. The Niners also boast a top-10 ground game, led by Christian McCaffrey’s 746 yards and six scores.

Worth mentioning before thinking about any Saturday Wild Card playoff bets, Seattle has the worst run defense (150.2 yards allowed per game) of any team in the playoffs. San Francisco won both meetings between these teams during the regular season.

In the nightcap, fans will get to see the playoff debuts of a pair of promising young signal-callers. The first overall choice in the 2021 NFL Draft, Trevor Lawrence, and the AFC South champion Jaguars face off against Justin Herbert and the Bolts.

Of course, Pittsburgh Steelers fans hope that the team does what it takes for Kenny Pickett to be mentioned among them as the best young quarterbacks in the conference.

Jacksonville is a 2.5-point home underdog with -118 odds, while the Chargers are -138 on the moneyline.

Over his last five contests — all wins — Lawrence has hit the mark on 67.8% of his throws, with eight touchdown strikes and an average of 255.8 yards per game. His favorite target has been Christian Kirk (1,108 receiving yards), who started all 17 regular-season tilts.

At least in terms of total yards per game (359.3), Los Angeles’ attack has been up to par with Jacksonville’s. Running back Austin Ekeler put up 13 touchdown rushing scores, which is tied with Tennessee’s Derrick Henry for the second-most in the league this year.
