A Seattle radio host wouldn’t be surprised if Russell Wilson got involved and influenced DK Metcalf to orchestrate the Steelers-Seahawks blockbuster trade that occurred on Sunday night.

He even went as far as calling Wilson a “cancer to the Seahawks organization.”

Wilson and Metcalf starred in Seattle for three years and still remain close friends. So I guess it’s plausible.

“I think Russ is the reason (Metcalf) wanted out. I think Russ whispered in his ears. Russ has been a cancer for the Seahawks organization,” Ian Furness of KJR Radio told the the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review’s Tim Benz on the Breakfast With Benz Podcast. “Russ keeps in contact with him and Tyler (Lockett).

“I know from what I understand inside the building, they’re pretty confident that Russ is the guy who was whispering in DK’s ears. Kind of poisoning the well, so to speak.”

Metcalf said in mid-November after Russell Wilson took over for Justin Fields: “Me, him and [Lockett] have a group text together where we keep in touch with each other. He’s been doing really well.”

NFL insider Jordan Schultz also posted on X that Metcalf’s girlfriend, Normani, recently revealed that Wilson and his wife, Ciara, were actually the ones who set her and Metcalf up. The two couples were together this past week at the Gold Party.

So the two have a very close relationship.

Wilson isn’t a lock to be the Steelers quarterback in 2025, but he is in consideration. It’s seemingly down to him and Aaron Rodgers. It’s not clear if Wilson had any role influencing the Metcalf trade, but given their close relationship, Furness’ conspiracy might not be far-fetched.
