PITTSBURGH — The Steelers took the field on Tuesday to start the second week of their offseason training activity program at UPMC Rooney Sports Complex.
The weather felt more appropriate for a training camp practice, as the squad, led by veteran quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, took the field in 80-plus-degree heat and high humidity.
So far, Roethlisberger has followed through on his promise to be around OTA’s more in 2019 after having his leadership questioned following the 2018 season, as have most of the rest of the Steelers veterans, which have been known to skip the technically optional workouts.
The lone exception so far has been guard David DeCastro, who has been out while his wife gave birth to their first child last week.
