Sights and Sounds from Steelers OTA No. 8

PITTSBURGH — The Steelers got a familiar visitor to practice for OTA No. 8 on Wednesday, as linebacker Ryan Shazier, who is still officially a member of the team on the physically inactive list, visited practice.

Shazier hung out with the defense during drills. Several Steelers have credited his presence as an extra voice with the team as a pseudo player-coach for their ability to offset his loss during the 2018 season.

SIGHTS AND SOUNDS

Several Steelers defensive backs have said that new coach Teryl Austin has brought an increased level of awareness to creating turnovers and looking for the ball compared to what the team has done in the past.

On Wednesday, the DB’s worked on high-pointing balls to get a hand on them and a make deflection.
