Sights and Sounds from Steelers Rookie Minicamp, Day 2
PITTSBURGH — After a rain-soaked first outing, the Steelers rookies and tryouts took to the practice fields at UPMC Rooney Sports Complex on the South Side on Saturday under a bright, blue sky.
On the defensive field, the focus was on the passing game, as the linemen worked on pass-rushing moves while the linebackers and defensive backs worked on coverages as an eight-man unit.
Fourth-round running back Benny Snell and the rest of the running backs were working on catching passes out of the backfield, while the tight ends — including fifth-round pick Zach Gentry — were taken to school by coach James Daniel on run blocking, with head coach Mike Tomlin taking an interest in the proceedings.
