Six-Time Pro Bowler Compares Steelers to Browns: ‘Incompetent Franchise’
Former six-time Pro Bowl running back LeSean McCoy believes the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns are not very different.

The Pittsburgh Steelers finally landed a bonafide No. 1 wide receiver, trading the Seattle Seahawks for DK Metcalf and then agreeing to sign him to a five-year, $150 million deal. Not everybody was a fan of the move, though.
Former six-time Pro Bowl running back LeSean McCoy thinks it was the type of move a team that isn’t serious about winning would make.
“This is the first time, I got to be honest, that the Pittsburgh Steelers look like an incompetent franchise,” McCoy said on FS1’s “The Facility.” “You go out there, spend $125 million on a superstar wide receiver with no quarterback. What are we doing here?”
It was a bold move by the Steelers, who are still looking for who their quarterback will be for the 2025 season. But at the same time, Metcalf could be the reason they land the best available quarterback.
On Wednesday, it was reported that the Minnesota Vikings are out on free agent quarterback Aaron Rodgers. If that’s true, it’s down to the Steelers, New York Giants or retirement for Rodgers.

Without the addition of Metcalf, the Steelers skill players wouldn’t come close to that of the Giants, who have wide receivers Malik Nabers, Darius Slayton and Wan’Dale Robinson, tight end Theo Johnson and running back Tyrone Tracy.
However, now it’s easy to argue Pittsburgh is more talented on offense with wide receivers Metcalf, George Pickens and Calvin Austin III, tight end Pat Freiermuth and running back Jaylen Warren.
It remains to be seen what exactly Rodgers is looking for in his next team, but it’s safe to assume he wants to win at 41. The Steelers seem to give him the best shot at doing just that.
Unfortunately, McCoy isn’t sold.
“Is this the Steelers or is this the Jets? Is this the Browns? Is this the Colts,” McCoy asked. “I’m disappointed with the Steelers franchise, what they’re doing right now.”
Maybe McCoy will change his mind if and when the Steelers officially land Rodgers.
