Steeler Now’s Mike Asti appeared on ESPN Upstate to represent the Steelers in their NFL Media Mock Draft show.
With the 24th overall pick, Asti selected offensive tackle Teven Jenkins out of Oklahoma State. Mike then explained the pick as one to fill a need for the present and future. Host Mark Ryan then asked why he didn’t go running back with Alabama product Najee Harris still on their board. Mike also explained why he’s against taking a running back in the first round and why it would’ve been a greater risk for a team with so many needs. He also discussed this on a recent episode of his “Mic Drop” show on Pittsburgh Sports Live.
The appearance also included a discussion on the expectations of the Steelers for the 2021 season and the reaction to Mike Tomlin’s extension.
