Seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady’s first year in the booth for FOX has not been all that great. Many believe Brady is not a fit for broadcasting, and miss Greg Olsen as the color analyst for FOX’s A-team with Kevin Burkhardt.

Last week, Tom Brady misnamed Philadelphia Eagles kicker Jake Elliott as David Akers. Akers has been retired since 2013 and hasn’t been a kicker for the Eagles since 2010.

Brady had another snafu in Saturday’s Steelers-Ravens game, as he confused Najee Harris with former Steelers running back Najeh Davenport. Davenport hasn’t played played for the Steelers since 2008. Akers and Davenport? Talk about blasts from the past.

Brady also confused Isaiah Likely for Lamar Jackson on the 9-yard touchdown reception, but later corrected himself. Not a glaring mistake, as he corrected himself, but Brady certainly wasn’t crisp.

“This is Cory Trice at corner,” Brady said. “The second-year player who hasn’t had much playing experience. They run a high-low concept and he just takes the cheese up here on Likely and exposes the safety to this easy throw here to Lamar.”

The Athletic’s Andrew Marchand ripped Brady for a mundane broadcast performance.

“Brady regressed this week. No extra insight all day. He said ‘chunks’ a thousand times,” Marchand wrote on X.

Andrew Fillipponi of 93.7 The Fan was also confused by Brady calling for the Steelers to punt on fourth-and-6 from the Ravens 46-yard line in the fourth quarter when trailing 24-17.

“Tom Brady: ‘I’d punt.; GTFOH,” Fillipponi wrote on X.

FOX gave Brady a 10-year $375 million contract to be their premier color analyst. It’s only his first year, but so far, Brady is by a far a better quarterback than broadcaster. His football knowledge is obviously top-notch, but his delivery is very dull and boring.
