South Side Scoop: Quiet Clean-Out Day Leaves More Questions than Answers

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers held their annual locker room clean-out day at UPMC Rooney Sports Complex on the South Side on Monday.

Not a lot of locker cleaning happened. Head coach Mike Tomlin calls days like Monday, with the Steelers eliminated from the playoffs, a “black garbage bag” type of day. The kind of a day where you pack your belongings quickly and haphazardly and get the heck out of Dodge.

The Steelers didn’t seem to be in a rush, as the locker room was as sparsely populated on Monday as it has ever been on the final day of the season in this reporter’s memory.
