The Steelers chose the Illinois center and guard with the 87th overall pick in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
Green’s deal has an estimated value of roughly $4.8 million with a signing bonus of $906,011 per Spotrac. The exact financial terms of the contract have not been announced.
Green was the last of the Steelers’ 2021 draft class to sign his contract.
The 6-foot-2, 305-pound lineman from Peoria, Ill. started all 33 games that he played in for the Fighting Illini. He was recruited as a defensive lineman, and made the switch to the offensive line prior to his redshirt freshman season in 2018. Green tallied 29 starts at guard, and 4 at center, where the Steelers will position him. Green was a consensus All-Big Ten pick in 2020 after being named an All-Big Ten honorable mention in 2019.
