The Pittsburgh Steelers have activated guard Rashaad Coward and tackle Chaz Green from their practice squad for Thursday night’s game against the Minnesota Vikings.

The duo will help provide depth to an offensive line that will be playing without starting left guard Kevin Dotson (high ankle sprain), backup center/guard J.C. Hassenauer (pectoral), backup center/guard B.J. Finney (back), and backup guard/tackle Joe Haeg (COVID-19).

Coward will be the team’s only backup interior lineman. Green will slot in behind Zach Banner as the second backup tackle. John Leglue is expected to start at left guard.

Coward will be active for the Steelers for the first time this season, He was with the team all offseason and made the active roster out of training camp, but was released early in October. Coward spent some time with the Jacksonville Jaguars and played in on game before returning to the Steelers’ practice squad on Nov. 23.

Green was elevated from the practice squad for Week 4 at Green Bay and was a COVID-19 replacement on Sunday against Baltimore. This is his second and final practice squad evaluation of the season. If the Steelers wish to play Green again, he will have to be added to the 53-man roster.
