Steelers Activate ILB Marcus Allen from COVID-19 List

The Pittsburgh Steelers activated inside linebacker Marcus Allen from the COVID-19 reserve list, the team announced on Thursday.

Allen was placed on the list last Tuesday, along with tackle Zack Banner and fellow inside linebacker Devin Bush. Allen was the only player of the three to be activated for the teams first practice of the week on Thursday as the Steelers prepare to host the Cleveland Browns on Monday Night Football.

Allen missed one game while impacted by the virus, last Sunday’s loss at Kansas City. He had begun to assume the responsibility of Dime linebacker before he tested positive.

The team’s fifth-round pick out of Penn State in 2018, Allen started with the Steelers at safety before making the move to inside linebacker before the 2020 season. He has 36 career tackles in 31 games.
