Steelers Add Practice Squad WR Tyler Vaughns to COVID-19 List; Eight Players Now Impacted
The Pittsburgh Steelers have placed practice squad wide receiver Tyler Vaughns on the COVID-19 reserve list, the team announced on Wednesday.
Vaughns’ addition makes eight players currently on the list for the Steelers, who will begin their preparations for Week 17’s game against the Cleveland Browns on Thursday.
Vaughns joins practice squad wide receivers Anthony Miller and Stevens Sims on the list, along with five players from the active roster: tackle Zach Banner, inside linebackers Marcus Allen and Devin Bush, nose tackle Isaiah Buggs and running back Anthony McFarland Jr.
The Steelers re-signed Vaughns to their practice squads on Dec. 12 after one week away from the club. A rookie out of USC, Vaughns was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Indianapolis Colts earlier this offseason. He was first signed by the Steelers on Sept. 7, but had not appeared in a game this season.
Vaughns will miss at least five days of practice, after which he will be eligible to return, based on the new NFL COVID-19 protocols released on Tuesday.
