Steelers AFC North Long Shots, Despite Well-Received Draft Class
The Pittsburgh Steelers had a well-received draft and free agency period in terms of media reaction and the impression of the general public.
But the bookmakers in Las Vegas seem less convinced that Omar Khan’s work has led to a turning of the tide for the team that missed the playoffs in 2022, especially in comparison to their closest competition.
According to odds available this week at Caesars Sportsbook, the Steelers have by far the worst odds of winning the AFC North.

The Cincinnati Bengals are the favorites to win the North again at a near-even-money +120. The Baltimore Ravens, now with Lamar Jackson back in the flock, have the second-best odds at +275, followed closely by the Cleveland Browns at +360. Then there’s a big gap to the Steelers, bringing up the rear with+550 odds.
The implied odds suggest that the Bengals have a 45.5% chance of winning the division, the Ravens a 26.7% chance, the Browns a 21.7% chance and the Steelers a 15.4% chance.
Because there is no “juice” on a futures bet of this nature, the casino profit margin is included in the line, meaning the actual suggest probabilities are actually about 10% higher than the ones mathematically calculated.
Still, it’s clear that the bookmakers think the Steelers, with second-year quarterback Kenny Pickett, will have an uphill climb to AFC North supremacy as long as Joe Burrow, Jackson and Deshaun Watson are around.
