Highsmith ended his rookie season with 48 total tackles, six quarterback hits, five tackles-for-loss, two sacks and an interception.
Selected in the third round of April’s draft, Highsmith saw limited time to begin the year, but started the last five games following Bud Dupree’s season-ending injury.
Joining Highsmith on PFF’s All-Rookie defensive line are Washington defensive end Chase Young, Carolina Panthers defensive tackle Derrick Brown and Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Raekwon Davis.
Highsmith is the second Steelers rookie named to PFF’s All-Rookie team, as guard Kevin Dotson was selected along the offensive line.
