Steelers All 90: CB DeMarkus Acy

All 90 is a Pittsburgh Steelers Now series profiling each of the 90 members of the Steelers 2021 offseason roster.

30 • DeMarkus Acy, first-year cornerback
6-foot-2, 195 pounds

Acquired: Signed by the Steelers as a street free agent on May 3, 2021.

Last season: Originally signed with the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent in 2020, but was waived on Aug. 20, 2020 and did not sign with another team last season.

College: Was a three-year starter at Missouri. Had three interceptions and 10 passes defended as a junior in 2018 and earned second-team All-SEC honors.

Camp outlook: There are plenty of opportunities for a dark horse to emerge at slot cornerback, but Acy would have to wade through a field that includes drafted players Antoine Brooks Jr. and Tre Norwood and more experienced ones like Arthur Maulet.

With his size, Acy is probably a better fit outside, anyway, and it seems more likely for him to end up as the No. 5 outside corner on the practice squad.

Future: Will become an exclusive-rights free agent after the 2021 season.
