All 90 is a Pittsburgh Steelers Now series profiling each of the 90 members of the Steelers 2021 offseason roster.

55 • Devin Bush, third-year inside linebacker
5-foot-11, 234 pounds

Acquired: The Steelers traded up to draft Bush with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Last season: Bush was injured in the second quarter of the Steelers’ Week 6 win over the Cleveland Browns, suffering a torn ACL that required surgery. He was placed on injured reserve on Oct. 23.

Through five games, Bush had 26 tackles, three passes defended and a sack while playing in 100% of the team’s defensive snaps before his injury.

Career: Bush made 15 starts as a rookie in 2019, quickly surpassing Mark Barron for the starting role. He finished with 109 tackles to lead the Steelers and also had nine tackles for loss, four passes defended, four fumble recoveries, two interceptions and a sack.

College: Turned pro after three seasons at Michigan, the last two as a starter at linebacker. Was a two-time All-American and a two-time finalist for the Butkus Award for the nation’s top linebacker.

Had 79 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss and five sacks as a junior in 2018.

Camp outlook: Bush was still somewhat limited by his knee recovery during OTAs and minicamp, but said he expects to be full-go by training camp.

The Steelers probably won’t rush him back to work, but come time for the regular season, he should once again be expected to be a near-full-time player in the middle of the Pittsburgh defense and a franchise cornerstone.

Future: Bush’s rookie contract will pay him $6.005 million in 2022. After this season, the Steelers will have to make a decision on Bush’s fifth-year option for 2023.
