All 90 is a Pittsburgh Steelers Now series profiling each of the 90 members of the Steelers 2021 offseason roster.
48 • Quincy Roche, rookie outside linebacker
6-foot-3, 245 pounds
Acquired: Selected by the Steelers with their sixth-round pick int he 2021 NFL Draft.
College: Roche played at Miami in 2020 as a redshirt senior after transferring from Temple.
Roche started 10 games for the Hurricanes and finished with 14.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks while earning third-team All-ACC honors. He also forced two fumbles and recovered three.
In three seasons with the Owls, Roche had 26 sacks and 39.5 tackles for loss, six forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries.
Camp outlook: The Steelers have cemented starters in Alex Highsmith and T.J. Watt at outside linebacker, but after that, there isn’t much holding back Roche from moving up the depth chart quickly.
He’ll likely enter training camp as the No. 4 outside linebacker, behind veteran Cassius Marsh, but certainly has the ability to move up into a more prominent role.
Future: Roche signed a four-year rookie contract that runs through 2024.
