All 90 is a Pittsburgh Steelers Now series profiling each of the 90 members of the Steelers 2021 offseason roster.

11 • Chase Claypool, second-year wide receiver
6-foot-4, 238 pounds

Acquired: The Steelers drafted Claypool with the No. 49 overall pick in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Last season: Claypool had an electric start to his NFL career, as he scored 10 touchdowns and had 559 receiving yards in his first 10 games.

Things slowed down for Claypool after that, as he scored just once while hauling in 23 passes for 314 yards in the final six regular season games.

The big target from Notre Dame showed sure hands with some impressive sideline catches, but ended up hauling in just 56.9% of the balls targeted for him last season, the second-worst figure of any Steelers receiver.

College: Three year starter for Notre Dame, leaving the Irish as No. 7 in program history with 150 receptions. He caught 13 touchdown passes in 2019, the sixth-most in a season by a Notre Dame player, while leading the team overall with 66 catches for 1,037 yards.

Camp outlook: One of the most interesting things to watch this training camp will be how new offensive coordinator Matt Canada uses his quartet of returning receivers.

JuJu Smith-Schuster has said he wants to work more outside, which could leave slot reps for Claypool, something that he didn’t get a lot of in 2020.

Future: Claypool’s rookie contract runs through 2023, as which point, he’ll be an unrestricted free agent. He’s set to earn $1.5 million in 2021, $1.8 million in 2022 and $2.1 million in 2023.
