All 90 is a Pittsburgh Steelers Now series profiling each of the 90 members of the Steelers 2022 offseason roster.

14 • George Pickens, rookie wide receiver, Georgia
6-foot-3, 200 pounds

Acquired: Selected by the the Steelers with the No. 52 overall pick in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Last season: An ACL tear in the spring game nearly ended Pickens’ junior season before it got started, but he worked hard to rehab the injury and returned for the Bulldogs’ regular season finale at Georgia Tech.

He played sparingly the rest of the season, catching five passes for 107 yards, but helped Georgia to a National Championship win over Alabama. The trust he gained in his knee from his late-season experience gave Pickens faith that he could enter the NFL Draft a year early and have success in the league.

CollegePickens took off as a freshman in 2019, hauling in 49 passes for 727 yards and eight touchdowns to lead Georgia in all three categories. He scored eight times in eight games in the COVID-19-shortened 2020 season and finished with 36 catches for 513 yards.

Camp outlook: Pickens figures to be into the heavy rotation at wide receiver for the Steelers, if not a part of the starting lineup. He’s been playing inside and outside and seems like he’s in line to be the No. 3 wide receiver behind Chase Claypool and Diontae Johnson.

Future: Pickens signed a four-year rookie contract with the Steelers that will keep him in Pittsburgh through the end of the 2025 season. It will pay him $1.23 million this season.
