All 90 is a Pittsburgh Steelers Now series profiling each of the 90 members of the Steelers 2021 offseason roster.
17 • Isaiah McKoy, rookie wide receiver
6-foot-2, 200 pounds
Acquired: Signed by the Steelers as an undrafted free agent on May 1, 2021.
College: Started all three seasons at Kent State before coming out as a true junior. McKoy played a total of 24 games, with the Flashes getting in just four in a COVID-19-shortened 2020 season.
McKoy’s best collegiate season was as a junior in 2019, when he hauled in 56 passes for 872 yards and eight touchdowns. He finished his college career with 123 catches for 1,750 yards and 16 scores. He was a two-time All-MAC selection.
Camp outlook: The Steelers’ top seven receivers all return from the 2020 season, which is not a position that usually provides a strong outlook for an undrafted free agent.
McKoy has a ton of talent and NFL size and speed, and the Steelers’ veteran receivers should not need a lengthly look in the preseason, so he will get an opportunity to show what he can do, and that could certainly result in him landing an NFL job, in Pittsburgh or elsewhere.
Future: McKoy will be an exclusive-rights free agent after the season.
