Camp outlook: Part of a crowded field at wide receiver, Moncrief will enter as the starter opposite JuJu Smith-Schuster and hope to hold off second-year man James Washington and rookie Diontae Johnson at that spot.
Projected role: Washington has better leaping ability and Johnson is twitchier coming out of breaks, but neither has the kind of NFL experience Moncrief brings — neither does Smith-Schuster, for that matter.
If he’s going to lose his grip on that starting job, it’s more likely to happen mid-season than coming out of camp.
