Steelers All 91: WR Tevin Jones

All 91 is a Pittsburgh Steelers Now series profiling each of the 91 members of the Steelers 2019 training camp roster.

14 • Tevin Jones, first-year wide receiver

Last year: Used a two-touchdown performance in the Steelers’ preseason finale to secure a spot on the practice squad, where he stayed the entire season. Was out of football entirely in 2017 after spending training camp with Kansas City.

Stats: Finished the 2018 preseason with four catches for 95 yards and two touchdowns.

Accolades, Highlights:

Caught this 27-yard touchdown from Josh Dobbs against Carolina in Week 4 of the 2018 preseason.

Camp outlook: It’s a crowded house at wide receiver with the additions of Donte Moncrief, Diontae Johnson, Johnny Holton and Diontae Spencer, but Jones will once again have the opportunity to show what he can do in the preseason.

Holton, Johnson and Spencer being experienced kick-return options probably won’t help Jones’ cause.

Projected role: It will likely come down to Trey Griffey, Jones and Spencer for receiver spots on the practice squad. Jones’ experience in the offense gives him a slight edge over Spencer. If the Steelers keep two, he’ll probably make it.
