Steelers Among NFL Teams with Best Fan Atmosphere
A recent study found that the Pittsburgh Steelers have one of the best fan atmospheres in the National Football League.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have some of the most well-traveled fans in all of sports, taking over opponents’ stadiums each and every season. However, where do they stack up against the rest of the league when it comes to fan experience?
According to a recent study by BetMaryland.com, the Steelers are one of the best, ranking third behind only the Kansas City Chiefs and Detroit Lions.
The study considered several factors, including how loud each stadium is on average, whether betting is legal in the state, mobile and retail options and how many fans attend both home and away games.
The results aren’t too surprising as Steelers fans have found themselves among the best in similar categories in the past.
A 2023 study found that the Steelers had the most out-of-state fans in the NFL with over 68 percent of the team’s fans coming from outside Pennsylvania. The second-highest support concentration for the Black and Gold came from neighboring Ohio, with a share of 6.4%. Georgia was third, hosting 6.32% of the Steelers’ fanbase.
The Steelers are joined by two of their AFC North rivals in the top 10 with the Cleveland Browns at sixth and the Baltimore Ravens coming in at ninth.
