AT STAKE

The Steelers cannot be elimination from postseason contention just by losing to the Seahawks, though they do face elimination in Week 17. A loss would have the Steelers hanging onto playoff contention by the skin of their teeth. Meanwhile, a win would likely set up a win-and-get-in Week 18 game against the Baltimore Ravens.

STEELERS TRANSACTIONS

The Indianapolis Colts signed defensive back Henry Blake from the Steelers practice squad and the Steelers released outside linebacker David Perales.

The Steelers signed former Dallas Cowboys Pro-Bowl linebacker Jaylon Smith and ex-Cleveland Browns safety Nate Meadors.

THE OTHER SIDE

The Seahawks will be without star safety Jamal Adams and wide receiver Dee Eskridge, both of whom were placed on injured reserve on Saturday.

Running back Kenneth Walker III and wide receiver DK Metcalf are both expected to play.

THE LAST TIME

The Steelers beat the Seahawks, 23-20 in overtime at Heinz Field on Oct. 17, 2021. Chris Boswell kicked the game-winner as one of his two field goals. Najee Harris scored on a five-yard reception from Ben Roethlisberger and tight end Eric Ebron had a 1-yard run.

STEELERS-SEAHAWKS SERIES

The teams are 10-10 all-time against each other. The Steelers have won four of the last six overall. In Seattle, the Seahawks have been dominant. The Steelers’ last win in Seattle came in 1983, with the Seahawks on a five-game home winning streak.

PITTSBURGH CONNECTIONS

The ties between both teams are apparent here. Two of Pittsburgh’s former first-round picks, Artie Burns and Devin Bush, play for the Seahawks. Bush will get the start with linebacker Jordyn Brooks sidelined by an ankle injury, giving into the revenge game storyline.

Steelers linebacker Myles Jack is from the area, playing in Bellevue, Washington, during high school.
