Steelers, Authorities Investigating after Ashes of Deceased Fan Spread at Heinz Field Sunday

The Pittsburgh Steelers and local authorities are investigating after a fan allegedly spread a relative’s ashes in the stands and on the edge of the playing surface at Heinz Field on Sunday.

The Steelers told KDKA-TV late on Sunday that they are aware of the incident and do not condone it.

Spreading ashes without the permission of the property owner is against the law in Pennsylvania.

The Steelers won the game against the Denver Broncos, 27-19.
