Steelers Cam Heyward, T.J. Watt Named to 2022 Pro Bowl Roster
Steelers defenders Cam Heyward and T.J. Watt will represent the team and the AFC at the 2022 Pro Bowl, the NFL announced on Wednesday.
Heyward has earned his fifth Pro Bowl nod and fourth in a row. He has 73 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, seven sacks and 13 quarterback hits in 14 games this season. He is first in the NFL amongst interior defensive lineman in tackles, tied for second in tackles for loss and fifth in sacks. He leads all linemen with seven passes defended.
Watt is a Pro Bowler for the third time in his career. He leads the NFL with 17.5 sacks, breaking James Harrison’s franchise record for sacks in a season. He also leads the NFL in quarterback hits with 30 and fumble recoveries with three. He’s second in tackles for loss and fourth in forced fumbles.
The selections make 21 consecutive seasons that the Steelers will have multiple Pro Bowlers. Five Steelers: guard David DeCastro, safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, center Maurkice Pouncey, Heyward and Watt represented the team in 2020 and 2021.
The 2021 game was not played due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2022 Pro Bowl is scheduled to be played on Feb. 6, 2022, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, during the week between the conference championship games and the Super Bowl.
