UNITY TWP., Pa — Steelers camp got underway on Tuesday with the pads popping once again, as the Steelers donned them for the second straight day. Yesterday, it was about the quarterback rotation, but on Tuesday, it was all about the big boys in the trenches. The Steelers’ offensive line was not good in 2021, but they are trying to change the story in 2022. If Tuesday shows any indication, that could potentially happen.
The offensive line was creating running lanes all day in the run team periods. The first team run period was rough but afterwards, the Steelers offensive line decided to bring some fire to Steelers camp. It was not just the first team offensive line either. The second team offensive line decided to get in on the action.
The first play that stood out was when a Kevin Dotson-led group pushed the pile with Jaylen Warren in the middle ahead for seven yards. Dotson was the forefront of the action. He splatted Mark Robinson down onto the turf in pass protection. Robinson tried to spin around Trent Scott, but Dotson was having none of that.
On another play with the second team offensive line, Joe Haeg led Anthony McFarland on a crack toss play. After kicking out Justin Layne, McFarland scampered ahead for the 15 yards. That was the second team offensive line.
