PITTSBURGH – Steelers cornerback Arthur Maulet left the Steelers their preseason game against Detroit. Maulet will not return after suffering a right ankle injury, according to the Steelers injury update in the middle of the second quarter.

This adds even more concern about the Pittsburgh secondary, most notably which role each payer will best fit into. Maulet has been having a solid training camp, so much so many were speculating he was looking like the front runner for the slot corner role going into the game on Saturday night.

Maulet, 28, joined the Steelers this offseason after spending time with New Orleans, Indianapolis and the Jets since entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2017.
