Colts Defender Calls Out Steelers Offense: ‘It’s the Same Plays’

The Pittsburgh Steelers were called out, again, though this time unintentionally. And somewhere, Germaine Pratt smiles.

Just one week after the Bengals linebacker Pratt claimed the Steelers’ offense under coordinator Matt Canada likes “to do the same plays over and over,” the on-field mic for the Steelers’ Monday Night Football showdown against the Colts caught this:

Crank the volume and listen again if you need to.

“It’s the same plays.”

That audio is clear, ladies and gentlemen.

It’s not a good look for Canada and the Steelers, to be certain. For their part, the team and its players denied that the Bengals knew the plays or seemed to pick up on repeat concepts after that Bengals defeat.

“That’s what they say when they’re having success,” head coach Mike Tomlin Tomlin said. “They don’t say it when they’re not. So, I don’t worry much about that. I focus on the things that are within our control. When I look at the tape, there were some repeat concepts, but Cincinnati was in some repeat concepts. And that’s football.

“They weren’t,” Steelers guard Kevin Dotson added. “Everybody has their main plays and there are only so many plays in a playbook for any team. So, I don’t really know if he was truly, ‘oh, we’re calling out the plays’. You can say whatever you want.”

That all sounds great –– so it’ll be interesting to hear them explain the Colts defender claiming the same.

That’s now two straight weeks for the Steelers’ opposition calling out predictable playcalling.

With three minutes left in the third quarter, the Steelers lead the Colts, 16-10, in Indianapolis.
