With so many struggling to put food on the table amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Convoy of Hope are banning together and lending a helping hand this holiday season.
For the second-straight year, the Steelers and the organization are teaming up to provide 1,000 Pittsburgh families with assistance as part of their “Huddle for the Holidays” initiative from Dec. 8-9, the club announced in a press release Wednesday.
They will be distributing resources and supplies to these families in need, including groceries, winter clothes, water, face masks, hand sanitizer, toys and books, distributed through local partners the YMCA, Boys & Girls Club, Veterans Leadership Program and Action Housing.

“We are thankful for our continued partnership with Convoy of Hope. In a season marked by the spirit of giving, we are honored to assist families in our community with food and supplies, and we are grateful for our local partners who are helping us reach those in need,” Director of Community Relations for the Pittsburgh Steelers Blayre Holmes Davis said in the statement.
“Convoy of Hope is proud to partner with the Pittsburgh Steelers to reach families in the Pittsburgh community by sending food and supplies,” Convoy of Hope Senior Vice President and Chief Communications Officer Roger Flessing added. “The Steelers organization consistently displays a big heart for their city and fans, and we are honored to come alongside them this holiday season.”
A faith-based organization with a “driving passion to feed the world,” Convoy of Hope has provided over 150 million meals this year alone in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
