PITTSBURGH — Steelers cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon left Saturday’s contest with a shoulder injury and his return is questionable. It came after a play where Witherspoon made a great run fill to flip over Kenneth Walker III, but Witherspoon remained kneeling on the field with the injury.

Ahkello Witherspoon was replaced on the field by Levi Wallace. On the day, Witherspoon had already made a nice play on a jet sweep earlier to halt Penny Hart from doing anything of note. With the injury, it will open the door for Wallace, Cam Sutton, and James Pierre to get more reps.

Afterward, Witherspoon did not have a helmet on the sideline after coming out of the injury tent. That likely means that Witherspoon will not return to the game. As such, Wallace, Pierre, and Sutton should get increased reps. In the slot, Tre Norwood and Arthur Maulet will battle it out to see who will get more playing time there.

The Steelers’ secondary looked solid with Witherspoon in, including forcing two punts from the Seahawks throughout the first quarter of the guy. It is the second injury in the secondary with the injury to Karl Joseph earlier in the game.
