Steelers Daily: Camp Tempers Flare; Another Johnson Contract Comp
The Pittsburgh Steelers haven’t put shoulder pads on yet through the first three days of training camp and that all continue on Saturday, but that doesn’t mean that things haven’t been physical at St. Vincent College. Meanwhile, Diontae Johnson’s hold-in took a turn with another contract comp dropping on Thursday.
: There we’re no pads but the popping off the metaphoric pads was on, with the second fight of camp on Friday (+)
: Will Diontae Johnson get the extension he’s looking for? DK Metcalf’s contract might show why that won’t happen.
: Most football players aren’t like all people, but Christian Kuntz is a die hard Pittsburgh sports fan, and gave Alan Saunders his opinions on the Penguins, Pirates and Acrisure Stadium.
: New running back Jeremy McNichols is ready to show his physicality and dedication to Pittsburgh
: The Steelers cornerbacks are talented, but are focused primarily on their ballhawking in training camp. (+)
: How optimistic are Steelers fans about the team’s chances in 2022? Not much, according to a study of Steelers fans tweets by BetOnline.
: Interestingly, that doesn’t really jive with Colin Cowherd saying Steelers fans still demand respect like it’s the 1970s.
"The Pittsburgh Steelers fanbase is interesting. Sometimes I think they live in a time warp. I feel the exact same way about them every single year until Mike Tomlin."
