Steelers Daily Links: AB Sued Again, Gotham Rogues Anniversary

Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown is facing another lawsuit for allegedly not paying for services rendered.

A Wisconsin company filed a lawsuit in Broward County, Florida, last month, seeking nearly $28,000 that Brown did not pay after verbally agreeing to have Avanti Solutions do work for Brown’s appearance at the “Rolling Loud” hip-hop concert in Los Angeles in March.

Avanti Solutions is suing Brown and his company, CAB Records, saying they had agreed to transport stage art and “provide on-site production management, stage performer choreography and casting, wardrobe fabrication and styling and stage visuals creation.” They did the work, per the lawsuit, but were never paid despite repeated attempts. The lawsuit notes that they “later found out that Brown had no intentions of submitting payment for the outstanding balances, since he has done that to other vendors in the past.”

Brown most recently made headlines as an owner with the Albany Empire, which was kicked out of the National Arena League last month in the middle of a season for nonpayment of team fees and fines.

? Thursday marked the 11th anniversary of the release of <em>The Dark Knight Rises</em>, which featured several members of the Steelers. Hines Ward, Ben Roethlisberger, Mike Wallace, Aaron Smith, Brett Keisel, Maurkice Pouncey, Willie Colon, Bill Cowher and Omar Khan all made an appearance during the scene when Bane blew up Gotham Stadium (Heinz Field).

Watt had earned three consecutive 90.0-plus pass-rushing grades before injury took him down, and he has a massive 23 forced fumbles in his six-year career,” PFF’s Sam Monson wrote.

Watt joined Cam Heyward (47) and Minkah Fitzpatrick (43) on the PFF 50 list.

? Former Steelers guard Terry Long was born on July 21, 1959 in Columbia, South Carolina. The Steelers selected Long in the fourth round out of East Carolina in the 1984 NFL Draft, and he played for the Steelers from 1984 to 1991. During his eight NFL seasons, he played in 105 games, and started 89 of them. Long died on June 7, 2005. It was determined that he had consumed a full gallon of antifreeze, which was ruled a suicide. An autopsy by neuropathologist Bennet Omalu revealed that Long had CTE, a degenerative disease caused by repeated hits to the head during his football career. Long is one of at least 345 NFL players to be diagnosed after death with this disease. He had previously attempted suicide in 1991, after testing positive for the NFL’s steroid test.
