Steelers Daily Links: White Tiger Bengals, Watt DPOY Again?

It’ll be a black and white Sunday for the Steelers in Pittsburgh; should his multi-week injury disqualify T.J. Watt from repeating as Defensive Player of the Year?

? The Cincinnati Bengals will wear their White Tiger uniforms for the Week 11 game against the Steelers in Pittsburgh, pitting Cincinnati’s solid white scheme against Pittsburgh’s black and gold Color Rush jerseys.

? T.J. Watt’s Defensive Player of the Year candidacy seemed sunk after his pectoral injury cost him seven weeks of the season, but former Steelers cornerback Bryant McFadden said on 93.7 The Fan on Tuesday that voters should count the impact that Watt’s absence had on the Steelers defense as proof of his value.

? Defensive captains T.J. Watt and Cam Heyward spent their off day on Tuesday by giving back to the community. Watt helped 412 Food Rescue pack supplies for area residents, while Heyward hosted a movie screening for Pittsburgh Public School students.

? Pitt legend Larry Fitzgerald met up with fellow Panther Kenny Pickett at the UPMC Rooney Complex on Tuesday. Fitzgerald stopped by the South Side facility to watch Pitt’s morning practice and speak with the players.

? Ben Roethlisberger had Pittsburgh broadcasting legend Bob Pompeani on his latest Footbahlin podcast to sample beers, talk Steelers and share some of their best golf stories. Pompeani was originally scheduled to appear on Roethlisberger’s podcast this past weekend, but Roethlisberger made arraignments for Heath Miller to come on since he was in town to be inducted into the Steelers Hall of Honor.

? The first brand of artificial turf installed at Three Rivers Stadium is featured at the new Steelers Hall of Honor Museum.

? Antonio Brown shared an alleged old text message between him and Ben Roethlisberger. The conversation revolved around how great of a quarterback-wide receiver duo they were. For some obscure reason, Brown also shared an alleged old text from Tom Brady that criticized him.

? NFL Network analyst Brian Baldinger broke down T.J. Watt’s impact in the Steelers’ win over the Saints on Sunday. “What a difference this Steeler defense looks like with Watt back in the lineup,” Baldinger said. “No one else in this league plays like this. Makes everyone else better.”

? Baldinger also gave high praise to Jaylen Warren, a player whom Baldinger has been high on all year. “Jaylen Warren is just exciting to watch….packs a powerful punch; no wasted movement and full of POP,” Baldinger said in a video breakdown of Warren’s performance against the Saints.

? According to real estate records obtained by clevelanddotcom, Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson purchased a 17,000 square feet mansion that includes its own fitness center, theater, pool, tennis and volleyball courts, all on 5.8 acres of land.

? The Steelers had four players (Najee Harris, Jaylen Warren, George Pickens and Kenny Pickett) register 20+ yard runs in the Steelers’ win over the Saints. The last time an NFL team had four players record 20+ yard runs in a game: Dec. 24, 2011 against the Carolina Panthers.
