🏈 San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy took a shot at Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Patrick Peterson in his postgame presser. Peterson claimed on his podcast that he would get a pick in the game.

🏈 49ers All-Pro edge rusher Nick Bosa said Brock Purdy “shut some haters up” with his stellar performance.

🏈 Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Brock Purdy is the first quarterback in NFL history to win each of his first six career regular-season starts and throw at least two touchdown passes in each start. Purdy also is the first quarterback in NFL history with a passer rating of 95 or higher in each of his first six career regular-season starts. In the win over the Steelers, Purdy completed 19 of 29 passes (65.5%) for 220 yards with two touchdowns, no interceptions and a quarterback rating of 111.3.

🏈 There weren’t a lot of positives from the Steelers’ 30-7 loss to the 49ers, but rookie tight end Darnell Washington did deliver a pancake block on reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year Nick Bosa. Bosa finished with just two tackles and one quarterback hurry.

The Steelers have now played 36 games with Matt Canada as the team’s offensive coordinator. The offense has failed to produce over 20 points in regulation in 27 of those 36 games. The Steelers also have zero games of over 400 yards under Canada. In addition, the Steelers have scored 30 points or more just twice in the Canada era.

49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk scored two touchdowns on Patrick Peterson on Sunday. Peterson slipped on the first score. The Steelers had several cleat snafus in the first half, while the 49ers had no problem with the playing surface.

Defensive line and pass rush coach Aaron Day broke down T.J. Watt’s swipe/rip move that resulted in his second sack of the afternoon on Brock Purdy. Watt recorded five total tackles, three sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, one tackle for loss and one pass defended against the 49ers.

🏈 Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson was partying with his teammates after Cleveland’s impressive 24-3 win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. The Steelers host the Browns in Week 2 on Monday Night Football at Acrisure Stadium.

🎂 Happy Birthday to former Steelers linebacker Robin Cole, born on September 11, 1955 in Los Angeles, California. Cole was the Steelers’ first-round selection in the 1977 NFL Draft out of New Mexico. He played 11 seasons in Pittsburgh and was a member of the Steelers’ Super Bowl XIII and XIV championship teams. Cole was named to the Pro Bowl and was an All-Pro selection in 1984. Cole played one season with the New York Jets in 1988 before calling it a career.

🎥 The 49ers faithful surprisingly took over Acrisure Stadium on Sunday. “Let’s go Niners” chants were even heard across the stadium late in the fourth quarter.
