Daily Links: Steelers Tops in Drops, Chase Claypool ‘Looks Like a Vending Machine’
The Pittsburgh Steelers have only dropped three passes this season, https://twitter.com/PFF_Steelers/status/1712463154100474171″>which
is tied for the second-fewest in the NFL according to Pro Football Focus.
Only of those drops was by a wide receiver. Calvin Austin III, Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren each have one drop this season.
There are four players that have more drops than the Steelers do as a team: Los Angeles Rams rookie Puca Nakua, Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews, Jacksonville Jaguars wide out Calvin Ridley and Houston Texans veteran Robert Woods.
? Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill told the Miami media that Chase Claypool “looks like a vending machine out there.”
“What’s crazy is, man, he looks like a vending machine out there, man, when he’s running,” Hill said. “Very fast. Very fluid in his routes. He’s definitely gonna be a huge addition to this team. Whether it’s blocking, whether it’s receiving the ball, whether it’s whatever this team needs him to do.”
Claypool had a drastic tenure with the Chicago Bears after the Steeles traded him at the trade deadline last year. He caught 18 passes for 191 yards and one touchdown over 10 games. The Bears were 0-10 in those games, as well. Claypool also displayed a lack of effort on the field on several occasions. Finally, the Bears had enough and traded him to the Dolphins packaged with a seventh-round pick in 2025 for a 2025 sixth-rounder.
Hill thinks Claypool was labeled wrong in Chicago.
“I feel like Chase Claypool gets a bad rap for probably not being a team guy,” Hill said. “But from what I’ve seen he’s been a heckuva teammate. He’s even offered to wash my car. How about that?”
