Steelers Daily Links: Muth Tries Coaching, Porter Day-1 Starter?
Mark Kaboly of The Athletic said on 93.7 The Fan that Pittsburgh Steelers second-round pick Joey Porter Jr. will be a Day 1 starter.
“I think it’s all setup for (Joey Porter Jr.) to start Week 1,” Kaboly said. “They view him right now as the starter. He would have to go to camp and totally implode for him to get that ripped away from him.”
Porter’s main competition for a starting cornerback role is veteran Levi Wallace.

? With training camp starting this week, Kenny Pickett’s personal quarterback coach Tony Racioppi wished all his NFL quarterbacks good luck. Racioppi posted a photo of him training Pickett at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex in the tweet.
“Best of luck to all my NFL QBs as training camps begin! Been a hell of an offseason of work. Chasing greatness and obsession with improvement and competition. Blast helping the top 1% get better,” Racioppi tweeted.

? Happy Birthday to former Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey, born on July 24, 1989 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Pouncey was selected in the first round out of Florida in the 2010 NFL Draft and put together a Hall of Fame-caliber career, earning nine Pro Bowls and five All-Pro nominations (two first-team). Pouncey made the Pro Bowl in every year that he was healthy during his 11-year career, he suffered season-ending injuries in 2013 and 2015. Pouncey is a member of the NFL’s 2010s All-Decade Team, which should help him greatly in his Hall of Fame case. The three things that might hold him back, however, is longevity, a lack of first-team All-Pros, and voters are tricky when it comes to centers. There’s only nine centers in the Hall of Fame, and four of them played during the 1950s.
? With the Steelers’ first training camp practice beginning on Thursday, the official NFL Twitter account posted a stunning one-handed catch by George Pickens from last year at Saint Vincent College.
