One part-time Steelers scout and former player likes what he sees in SUC WR Jordan Addison and Vince Williams range the draft linebackers.
? Bleav in Steelers podcast: Former Steelers cornerback Taylor said that Jordan Addison’s tape and route running are more important attributes than is subpar 40-time at the NFL Scouting Combine. “His routes were looking silky smooth,” Taylor said to co-host Mark Bergin. “To me, Addison had a good day. What you saw on tape, what I saw on tape Addison was the same thing I saw in person: A smooth route runner, getting in and out of breaks. Good hands.” Taylor is now a scout for the Steelers.
? Footbahlin podcast: Mike Tomlin joined Big Ben and Spencer Te’o for Episode 23 of “Footbahlin’ with Ben Roethlisberger. The episode will air on Monday.
? Executive Director of the Reese’s Senior Bowl Jim Nagy gave a shoutout to Mike Tomlin. “No NFL head coach takes advantage of @seniorbowl more than #Steelers HC Mike Tomlin,” Nagy tweeted. “We asked one HC: Why don’t all head coaches clear 3 days off their schedule to see over 40% of all drafted players? HC’s response: ‘They’re lazy.'”

? Nagy hopes teams don’t overthink things with Minnesota center John Michael Schmitz like they did with Creed Humphrey in 2021. “NFL totally over-thought it with Creed Humphrey. Hope teams don’t make same mistake with John Michael Schmitz,” Nagy tweeted. “If you need a center, take JMS and get a two-contract high-level starter. One of the surest things in this year’s draft.”
? The Los Angeles Rams traded All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for a 2023 third-round pick and tight end Hunter Long. The Dolphins defense is loaded with talent, as they feature Ramsey, cornerback Xavien Howard, safety Jevon Holland, edge rushers Jaelan Phillips and Bradley Chubb, and defensive tackle Christian Wilkins. They also have a new defensive coordinator in Vic Fangio.
Former Steelers cornerback Bryant McFadden thinks with Jalen Ramsey now in Miami and Aaron Rodgers likely heading to the New York Jets, the window that the Buffalo Bills had in the AFC East will be closed.
? Former Steelers inside linebacker Vince Williams ranked his top inside linebackers in the NFL draft on Twitter. Dayian Henley (Washington State) was Williams’ top inside linebacker, followed by DeMarvion Overshown (Texas), Trenton Simpson (Clemson) and Drew Sanders (Arkansas). Williams was asked about a couple other top inside linebackers, Henry To’oto’o and Noah Sewell. He said he likes To’oto’o more than Sewell.
? The Cleveland Cavaliers official Twitter account responded to a Steelers fan who accidentally tweeted at them pleading for Cam Sutton to be re-signed. “Sir, we’re a basketball team in Ohio.”
