🏈 Jim Trotter of The Athletic won the 2023 Bill Nunn Jr. Award. The Pro Football Writers of America announced on Wednesday that Trotter’s peers voted him the 55th winner of the award. The Nunn Award is given to a reporter who has made a long and distinguished contribution to pro football through coverage. The award is named for Nunn, who, before his Hall of Fame scouting career with the Steelers, worked 22 years at the Pittsburgh Courier.

🏈 Bleacher Report: Steelers cornerback Patrick Peterson was listed in Brad Gagnon’s article about active NFL players we’d love to see win their first Super Bowl ring.

“Patrick Peterson has been a part of just one playoff win in his 12 years as an awesome NFL cornerback.During that stretch, the eight-time Pro Bowler and three-time first-team All-Pro has intercepted 34 passes. As a result, he’s almost definitely on a path to Canton. But he’s also almost definitely nearing the end of his career path, and his new team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, aren’t exactly a heavy Super Bowl favorite. That elusive ring appears to be far from Peterson’s reach,” Gagnon wrote.

🏈 93.7 The Fan: Former Steelers quarterback Bruce Gradkowski thinks the re-signing of Mason Rudolph is good on both ends for the Steelers.

“This is mutually beneficial for both parties,” Gradkowski said. “The grass isn’t always greener. (Mason) could think — the coaches know me, I know the offense … it’s a good move for the Steelers. They could see Mason as a good asset in the quarterback room.”
