Daily Links: Green Responds, Ex-Steeler Predicts Big Jump for Pickett
Pittsburgh Steelers center Kendrick Green took issue with Andrew Fillipponi saying that he got manhandled on a play during Saturday night’s preseason game against the Buffalo Bills. Green direct messaged Fillipponi, “It’s outside zone bro.”
Sincerest apologies to Kendrick Green. On the play Saturday night where he got pushed back and called for a hold, it was actually outside zone. Bro. No explanation on bad snap. pic.twitter.com/FTSOPB9Xzc

Of course, Green’s own head coach Mike Tomlin called his efforts against the Bills “not good enough.”
? Rich Eisen believes it’s not an overreaction that the Pittsburgh Steelers could win the AFC North.
“This is not an overreaction. This is entirely possible,” Eisen said. “Anyone who says it’s not possible that Pickett can’t make the leap? That Pickens can’t make the leap? That Najee can’t do the things we’ve seen him do? And the defense if T.J. Watt is healthy? Good lord. The Steelers finished strong, the Steelers have a dynamite coach. You can’t say that’s an overreaction at all.”
? Chris Simms of NBC Sports is also loving what he’s seeing from the Steelers.
“I’m gonna ride the wave from what I’ve seen. I know it’s preseason football, but every year there’s certain teams that look a certain way in the preseason and it moves over into the regular season. I think this is real,” Simms said.
? Steelers outside linebacker Alex Highsmith discussed the offseason additions and preparing to face the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1 on Good Morning Football.
“I think we’ve added a lot of key pieces here in this offseason,” Highsmith said about the defense. “I think we have talent all around the board. And for us, it’s just staying healthy. And like I said earlier with my play just overall as a defense, we just got to be consistent. I think that this last preseason game we came out, we started fast. I think the key to being a good defense is coming out and starting fast every single game. We know we have the talent and the ability in our room to be the best.”
