Nashville its replacing Nissan Stadium, which is just two years older than the Pittsburgh Steelers home Acrisure Stadium, a classic bounce-back win over Tampa Bay.

Nashville Mayor John Cooper has struck a deal with the Tennessee Titans to build a new domed stadium, according to Nate Rau of Axios Nashville. If approved by Metro Council, the new venue will be located east of Nissan Stadium, near I-24, and cost up to $2.2 billion. Nissan Stadium has been around since 1999, which makes it two years older than Acrisure Stadium.

The Steelers closed as a 9.5-underdog against the Buccaneers at Caesars — their largest home underdog margin since 1970. With defeating the Bucs, 20-18, the Steelers had their largest upset win since the 2005 Divisional Round game against the Colts when they were 9.5 underdogs. It was also the largest upset in the NFL this season.

The last four times the Steelers lost a game by 20+ points, they’ve won the next game.

A couple got engaged at Acrisure Stadium during the Steelers-Buccaneers game on Sunday.

Former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky said Mitch Trubisky looked like a completely “different quarterback” against the Buccaneers. “Sometimes just getting benched, you go out there and say, you know what in many ways F it. I’m just going to go play aggressive,” Orlovsky said.

After Mitch Trubisky’s impressive showing on Sunday, Kay Adams wonders if the Steelers switched to Kenny Pickett too soon.

NFL Network analyst Brian Baldinger liked what he saw from both Kenny Pickett and Mitch Trubisky on Sunday. “Steelers got the best all around quarterback play they have enjoyed all season,” Baldinger said. “Gonna need both Kenny Pickett and Mitch Trubisky during this long season and both delivered Sunday. Mitch is a pro and proved it. Steelers got life!”

Baldinger also gave high praise to Terrell Edmunds for his performance on Sunday. “No Minkah Fitzpatrick. Rell stepped up and I think played his best game,” Baldinger said. “This is what the good teams do; rally when a key player is down.”

Six outside corners played at least 25 coverage snaps this week and allowed only one reception as the nearest defender, James Pierre was one of them.

On the latest episode of his Footbahlin podcast, Ben Roethlisberger discussed golfing with ‘The Bus’, the Steelers’ win over the Buccaneers, and presenting at the Dove awards.

Antonio Brown randomly showed up at Florida Atlantic’s game against Rice and decided to join FAU’s band. AB was walking around with a sousaphone, which is of the tuba family. Yes, this actually happened …

AROUND THE NFL

Russell Wilson has another dreadful performance in primetime, as the Denver Broncos fell to the Los Angeles Chargers, 19-16, in overtime on Monday night. There were high hopes for the Broncos this season, which is why they’ve been slated with so many primetime games. However, Wilson’s $245 million contract that will keep him in Denver for the next seven years looks like a massive mistake. The Broncos rank dead last in points per game (15.0) in the NFL. They also gave up two first-round round picks, two second-round picks and three players for Wilson’s services.

Former San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers said he never suffered a concussion during his football career. Dating all the way back to when he started playing the game as a kid. Concussions have been a huge topic in the NFL lately, which stems from the Tua Tagovailoa situation. Kenny Pickett was the latest NFL quarterback to suffer a concussion.
